Women's Equality Day
August 26, 2008—CEDPA marks Women’s Equality Day, August 26,
by celebrating the promise of thousands of women who are leading
change within their communities.
Research shows that investing in women pays off huge dividends for
communities through improved family health, greater education for children
and improved economies. At CEDPA, this has been our experience through
more than 30 years of on-the-ground programming.
We invite you to read the stories of four CEDPA alumni who are improving their
families and nations. Their achievements offer hope for a day when every girl will

These four women participated in CEDPA's Global Women in Management Program. The intensive four-week training teaches skills in project management, decision-making, business development, proposal writing, advocacy, strategic communications and monitoring and evaluation. Participants receive ongoing support once they return to their home countries through an innovative coaching program.
Participants were funded through the generous support of the ExxonMobil Foundation's Educating Women and Girls Initiative.
